A bronze sculpture depicting a scouting Indian with a bow.

Condition:
The bronze is in very good condition according to age. The chord of the bow is missing. The figure measures 24 x 21 x 10 cm, the marble base 2 x 20 x 11.5 cm.

Joseph Drischler (1838-1917)
Joseph Drischler presumably studied at the Academy in Berlin around 1880. He was initially active at the workshop of the famous Berlin sculptor Rudolf Siemering (1835-1905). He then spent some time in America, before returning to Berlin. Drischler’s oeuvre includes a number of monuments as well as finely modelled figurines that were cast, among others, by the Berlin art foundry Gladenbeck. (cbo)
