Description

Joseph Kiselewski (1901-1986) seahorse: a fountain inscribed &copr;/J. Kiselewski with the Gargani Fdry N Y foundry mark bronze, greenish brown patina height: 45in. (114.3cm.) In a later dated March 25, 1942, Joseph Kiselewski writes that four silver painted cement copies of Seahorse were displayed in a fountain pool at the 1927 World's Fair. At the close of the fair, the cement versions were destroyed. The model for the present version was completed in the 1930s, and two examples were cast.
