8vo (193 x 115mm.), xii, 306, [2]pp., illustration : woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces, woodcut diagrams, binding : contemporary panelled calf, spine gilt in compartments, morocco lettering-piece, eighteenth-century manuscript annotations in a neat cursive hand, interleaved with a series of loosely inserted pages of eighteenth-century manuscript notes and mathematical calculations, by way of annotation and commentary on the text in numerous pages of this book
