Hocking's novel, based on the Robert E. Howard immortal character, Conan and the Emerald Lotus, Tor Books, 1999. "One wizard is bad -- two are a disaster. After refusing to help the evil wizard Ethram-Fal, Conan has been cursed with a spell that is slowly, inexorably squeezing the life from his mighty frame.
