Description

KENNETH GAYOSO HOW (American, 1883-) "IN PORTSMOUTH HARBOR". Outstanding oil on canvas harbor scene shows a large dock with buildings with lobster boats beside. A bridge is seen in background with tall steel open towers. Signed lower right "Kenneth How". Attached to back stretcher are three exhibition labels. One "Grand Central Art Galleries Inc."; second is "Bethel Inn Exhibition 1945" and the third being "Allied Artists of America Inc.". Also attached to back is a plaque "Lay Members Prize for Painting Allied Artist's of American, Inc. 20-7th Annual Exhibition 1940". Housed in an old carved and gilt frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 25" x 30". CONDITION: Very good with inpainting. 9-94549 (3,000-5,000)
