Note:John Diefenbaker, Canada's 13th Prime Minister, served from June 21, 1957 to April 22, 1963. This was Forbes' first attempt which was apparently abandoned for the final version, lot no. 5 in this sale,with the position of both arms altered, the colour of his tie changed from red to blue and with the background items added.
