Kanal in Gent (Kanal mit Schuppen). 1919. Gouache on J.Whatman 1913 England (watermark). 48 x 59,5cm. Signed lower right 'Kerschbaumer', and inscribed below in a hand other than that of the artist 'Ostende 18.9.19'. Cta.rais. Wetzel-Kerschbaumer, No. W 1919/6. The date is presumably a later inscription which propably refers where it was created, not the motif. These notes are also found on two paintings with the same motif (cf. G 1916/1 and G 1916/2). They are titled "Genter Kanal" in publications published during the artist's lifetime.
