Killian Schurmann (b.1962) THE CORMORANT signed and dated [1998] lower right and numbered 2 of an edition of 32 glass thermocollage 36 by 41 by 4.5cm., 14 by 16 by 1.75in. Based on a design made for Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, the edition was stopped at eight, rather than the intended 32. Killian Schurmann is a Dublin based artist who has worked with glass for over twenty years. He has exhibited his glass sculptures or 'thermocollage' in Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and France. His work can be found in the Ulster Museum, the National Self-Portrait Collection in Limerick, the Botanic Gardens at Glasnevin, the Bank of Ireland, AIB and Nissan Ireland collections, as well as in the Glass Museum in Wertheim, Germany.
