Notes

Hercules Fisherman recently returned from his Far East tour, where he was invited to work and exhibit a series of sensual paintings produced, in Thailand and Japan. These works strongly influenced by classic Japanese and Eastern techniques with a modern touch. Hercules is an award-winning artist, publisher, technologist and serial entrepreneur. He has a keen interest in Sumi paintings and a fascination with Zen-Kanji calligraphy, experimenting with fluid nature of the medium, where magical and shimmering hues result from the application of Sumi brushes and inks on rice papers. A selection of his recent work was on exhibit for the first time in Japan at the inaugural opening of Shin Star Gallery. Hercules has built a reputation for a strong body of work over the years that include painting, sculpture, installation and performance art. He has exhibited at international art centres and events in countries and private collections around the world. His work has gained recognition in UK newspapers and magazines including The Face, The Guardian, Sunday Times, ID and Harpers & Queen, to name a few. He has been on TV and featured in films such as London Kills Me by Hanif Kureishi. Hercules has also launched popular clubs and events including Our Wonderful Culture hosting celebrities like Vivien Westwood, and interviews with Lucian Freud, Leigh Bowery, Richard Hamilton, Yoko Ono, and Gilbert and George. Hercules has held artist residencies at De Fabrik, Netherlands, The Fridge London, Paradise Wildlife Park, Shin Star Gallery - Thailand and Japan. Hercules is a passionate protagonist for the advancement of culture, high-tech and social change, and widely recognised for mentoring high-tech start-ups. He recently participated in a major Human Rights fundraising event held at the United Nations in Geneva along with Daniel Barenboim and others, promoting peace and principles for the Universal Rights Declaration.
