KRAL Jaroslav (5. 12. 1883 Malesov near Kutna Hora - 22. 3. 1942 Auschwitz) A Couple from Suburbia Oil on canvas, 76 x 58 cm, framed, dated 1922, signed lower left. Provided with an expertise by PhDr. J. Hlusicka. In the 1920s the artist expressed himself through his specific version of Cubism aiming at simplifying form to the very core of its geometrical structure. Sharp, broken lines become boundaries between light and shadow. The colours are graduated towards signal colours, contrasting shades of purple and green.
