Bildnisse ausgezeichneter Greichen und Philhellene nebst einigen Ansichten und Trachten, first edition, title and text (14 pages) in German and French, 28 lithographed views and portraits by J. Selb, P. Hess, Hohe and others after Krazeisen, the portraits on india paper, light foxing to text leaves and a very few plates, loose with one of the printed part-wrappers to serve as title, a very tall copy with edges uncut [Blackmer 926; Lipperheide 1447], folio, Munich, [1828-31]

Krazeisen's portraits of the Greek heroes of the War of Independence, and the philhellenes who assisted them, have served as the portraits of these personalities in countless publications. The artist was a junior officer with the Bavarian philhellenes under von Heideck. Sets of the original lithographs in good condition are increasingly scarce. See Illustration at page 31.
