LITERATURE AND REFERENCES

Harris 416; cf. BAL RIBA 1730 (1st edition of 1727)
CATALOGUE NOTE

Langley was much interested in freemasonry, which had been founded in England in 1717. "The 'Dialogue' on architecture between M and P, master and pupil, in The builder's chest-book (1727), suggests an early form of masonic catechism" (Harris, p.264).

This second edition was also issued together with Isaac Gadsdon's Geometrical rules, not present in this copy.
