Payment methods and charges
Payment methods
The following methods of payment may be made:bankers draft, cashiers cheque, personal cheque (if covered by a cheque guarantee card), travellers cheques, debit and credit cards or cash up to a sterling equivalent of €15,000.

Credit and Debit cards
Visa or Mastercard for which there is a 2.5%
surcharge + VAT for cards registered to a Uk
address, and 3% for foreign cards.
Debit cards: Delta, Switch, Connect
Where practical, payment can be made and
purchases collected during the auction.
Storage charges
Storage charges will be levied on all lots not
collected within 30 calendar days of the sale.
This will include a handling fee of £20 (+ VAT)
per consignment and a storage charge of £2
(+ VAT) per lot per day. No goods will be
allowed to be collected until these charges
have been paid.
Artist's Resale Right/Droit De Suite
Droit de Suite is a royalty payable to a qualifying
artist or the artist's heirs each time a work is resold
during the artist's lifetime and up to a period of 70
years after the artist's death.
Royalties are calculated on a sliding percentage
scale based on the hammer price excluding the
buyer's premium. The royalty does not apply to
lots selling below the sterling equivalent of €1,000
and the maximum royalty payable on any single lot
is the sterling equivalent of €12,500.
Droit de Suite, which is not subject to VAT, will be
added to the buyer's purchase price and then
passed on to the relevant collecting agency.
Please enquire for the accepted exchange rate on
the day of the sale.
Royalties for Droit de Suite are as follows
4% Up to €50,000
3% €50,000.01 - 200,000
1% €200,000.01 - 350,000
Viewing
All our auctions are on view the Friday and
Saturday prior to the auction sale between
the hours of 9am and 5pm details can be
found in the relevant catalogues or on our
website.
Condition Reports
The relevant department will be pleased to give
condition reports on any lot, where practical.
All weights and measures given in the catalogue
should be regarded as approximate.
The colours printed in the catalogue are not
necessarily true.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF REQUESTS WE HAVE FOR CONDITION REPORTS WE CAN'T GUARANTEE TO REPLY TO CONDITION REQUESTS SUBMITTED AFTER MIDDAY ON THE MONDAY PRIOR TO THE SALE.
Commission Bidding
If you are unable to attend the sale you can leave
a commission bid. This will be executed on your behalf by the auctioneer who will purchase the lot as cheaply as possible bearing in mind any reserve price and other bids.
Telephone Bidding
It is usually possible to bid on the telephone by prior
arrangement with the office, as a general rule we
need to estimate that the item will make in excess of
£300.
PLEASE NOTE - by booking a telephone line on an item you are agreeing to place a bid of at least the low estimate on an item.
Buyer's Premium
A buyer's premium of 18% (subject to vat) is payable on each lot purchased.
VAT
Lots marked with an asterisk (*) are subject to VAT
on the hammer price.
Payment and clearance
Payment is due within seven days of the auction
in pounds sterling. If you are a first time buyer we
will need your name, address and bank details and will require funds to be cleared before purchases can be released.
Terms and conditions
1. The Site
This site ("the site") is owned by Lawrences Auctioneers Limited of Norfolk House, High Street, Bletchingley, Surrey, RH1 4PA (referred to in these conditions as "we" and "us"). The terms, covenants, conditions and provisions below (the `Terms and Conditions') constitute an agreement between you, the user, and us, and sets out the conditions upon which you may access the information, products, materials and services available through the Site.
2. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions as binding

We will not (except for exceptional circumstances, such as if it were to become illegal for us to refuse to make disclosure) disclose the information to third parties without your permission.
5. Copying
You may view the site and you are welcome to print hard copies of material on it for your personal, non-commercial use. All other copying whether in electronic, hard copy or other format is prohibited and all other rights reserved.
6. Disclaimer of Liability
We give no warranties in respect of the Site. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing we do not warrant the Site or any software available on or downloaded from it will be free from viruses or defects, nor do we warrant that any material or information contained on this Site will be true, accurate or complete. Except to the extent otherwise provided in these terms and conditions any warranties which would otherwise be implied by law as to quality, fitness for purpose or as to skill and care are hereby excluded. Save in relation to any information or software at any site linked to the Site, we have exercised reasonable care in compiling all information provided at this Site and to ensure that all software provided for downloading on the Site is free from any defects and viruses. It is your responsibility, however, always to verify any information that you may obtain on the site with independent authorities before acting on it.
