The table is crafted from burr walnut, with a grain beautifully highlighted by French polishing, a technique that requires patience and skill to achieve a polished, shiny finish. It has four adjustable extensions using a double winding mechanism, transforming into a six-foot diameter circular table when retracted. It stands on six elegantly carved legs, finished in brass cup castors.

The floral marquetry detailing on the tabletop adds a royal touch with its exquisitely detailed bouquets of flowers.

The eighteen chairs, including sixteen side chairs and two armchairs, are made from solid walnut, with a French polished finish and upholstered to match the table. The seats are removable, allowing the use of the underlying cane seats in warmer seasons. Provenance: British private collection.
