D.C. painter. Atkyns exhibited from the 1940s-60s, at University of Chicago, National Academy of Design, Butler Art Institute, Corcoran Gallery, and the Society of Washington Artists. He opened his own art school in 1950, and was a member of the Southern States Artist League, Landscape Club of Washington, and the Newport Art Association.
