Heinrich Lefler was one of the great decorative artists of the Vienna Secession. He often worked with his brother-in-law Joseph Urban in producing exquisite books and calendars. Their masterpiece was the opulent collection of traditional German nursery rhymes Kling Klang Gloria (1907). This and the following lot were likely for a sequel that was never published.
