Notes

Leon and his brother Jules-Antoine were twin who both started out studying medicine. Both had similar styles, sometimes being difficult to differentiate as the often did not sign their works. Often their watercolours were painted in the style of Moreau or Constantin Guys.
Leon-Joseph exhibited at the Salon from 1874 to 1880 where he received several awards. He was mainly known for military and genre scenes.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
