NOTE

Leonid Lamm was born into a wealthy family in Konstantinovo near Moscow. At the end of the 1910s he moved to Germany, enroling in the Munich Academy of Fine Arts in 1921. In 1926 Lamm participated at the Glaspalast Exhibition in Munich, where three of his works were exhibited alongside such prominent Russian artists as Natalia Goncharova, Konstantin Korovin and Philip Maliavin. This vibrant Paris night scene displays the confident, vigorous brush-strokes typcial of Lamm's energetic brand of impressionism.
