The second painting was purchased from an exhibition of the artist's works, Maison Mansart, Paris, 1986, and is inscribed in the artist's hand on the reverse: "Vendu a Mr Baird le 6 Avril, 1986, a Paris" and signed Dehong Chen.

QUANTITY: 2

Li Fengbai, oil painter, watercolourist and sculptor, trained in Paris before returning to China to teach at the Hangzhou Academy of Art. From 1933, he spent a further 20 years living in Paris before returning, finally, to China.

Chen Dehong graduated in 1960 from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, and in 1982 he settled in Paris. He has since exhibited widely in Europe and the U.S.
