This work is an example from the Art Movement in Australia and relates to the decorative work of other women artists in Sydney in the 1890s including Dame Constance Roth, Emily Meston and Maude McKenzie. Although the date of her death is unknown, Lilla was still exhibiting in the mid-1920s with the Society of Women Painters in Sydney.
