Provenance

According to the inscription in Danish on the easel:
François Arlaud (1779-1862), Sardinian Consul in Helsingör, the artist's elder son.
Inherited by Pierre-Auguste Arlaud (1828-1914), son of the latter.
Sold after the death of the latter by his niece Elna-Eliza Tvede née Arlaud (b. 1875) to Ove Ringberg (1883-1922), director of the Danish Landmandsbanken.
