Notes

Louis Félix de la Rue was a pupil of the sculptor Lambert Sigisbert Adam, called Adam l'aîné. He received the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1750 and went on to become a professor at the Académie de Saint-Luc. He is known for his bacchanal scenes, in both drawing and sculpture.
