SURFACE: painting needs some work--it is in fair, but original condition; there are several scattered paint losses and a few small tears/punctures--largest is a thin, 4 in. vertical area which starts at upper edge, center and which goes through the 18 in the date (although hardly affects it) and the top of her head (down to the top of her eye)--there are a couple of small holes here, as well as paint loss and crackle; tiny punctures (at edge of her right hand, in front of her waist, a couple of inches below her right hand-on the damask pedestal and one at left edge, center); several scattered losses; stretcher marks from a former stretcher UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: no apparent inpainting
