2° (490 x 330mm). Half-title, table of contents, 64 (of 68) double-page engraved plates. (Without title, perhaps never issued, lacking plates 9, 27, 55 and 56, occasional marginal staining, affecting plate 12 only.) Contemporary vellum (stained, lower corners chipped). Provenance: unidentified bookplate.

FIRST EDITION, RARE. Lovisa published an undated work containing 122 plates and titled Il Gran Teatro di Venezia ovvero raccolta delle principali vedute e pitture che in essa si contengono diviso in due tomi (c.1717). The present work is recorded in SBN on-line as being printed c.1709 and is the basis for the later enlarged Gran Teatro. Only 2 copies located in Italian libraries. AE records the sale of just 2 copies in 1982 and 1986. Cicognara 4100; Succi, Da Carlevarijs ai Tiepolo, pp. 230-234.
