Notes

Despite being from Perugia, as his name indicates, this artist was active in Bologna during the first two decades of the 15th century. In 1417 he signed a fresco in the chapel of Santa Brigida in the church of San Petronio, Bologna. About three years later he signed another fresco, also in the same church, on the pilaster between the chapel of Santa Brigida and the Cappella della Pace. This small devotional panel is one of very few easel paintings that have been attributed to the artist. Prof. Filippo Todini, who first published the work in 1989, has more recently endorsed the attribution on the basis of photographs.
