Born in Paris Pallez studied under Guillaume and Millet, exhibiting at the Salon from 1873. He became a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur in 1887 and won silver medals at the Exposition Universelles of 1889 and 1900. Amongst his works are portrait busts of his contemporaries, series of allegorical groups and several public monuments, his monument to Victor Hugo for the Borghese Palace in Rome being one of his most famous works.
