Condition Report

With a canvas stencil from Richard Wurm, München, on the reverse.

The repaired tear is horizontal and is located in the top of the woman's bonnet, extending into the top of the greenery that adorns the brim. It measures about 1-1/2 inches and has been very well concealed. The other tear that is not repaired is crescent-shaped and measures 3/4 in overall. It is located in the green background below and to the left of the artist's right hand. There is minimal paint loss at this site. The are some fine dots of retouch at the left edge of the canvas, as if to cover frame abrasions. There are some scattered pinpoint-sized paint losses and scattered varnish inconsistencies visible in raking light, and a small C-shaped area measuring 1 x 1/2 in that appears to be varnish bloom , located in the dark tree bough above the woman's head, again most visible in raking light.
