Mounted for framing, ink and a touch of color on paper, with a dedication to Dihua, dated dinghai (1947) with three seals of the artist, the robed figure holds a chrysanthemum, framed both by the arching leaves of the banana palm and the artist's long vertical inscription, this painting showcases both the artist's distinctive calligraphic style and the boldly executed large-scale figure paintings for which he was well-known.
