Lot 42: Luke Sullivan (British, 1705-1771)

Mrs Mapletofte, wearing a yellow dress with lace trim, black lace shawl, pale blue scarf, flowers at her corsage, her neck adorned with a double strand of pearls tied with yellow ribbon, her hair decorated with a yellow scarf and strands of pearls with central drop pearl. Signed with monogram on the obverse and dated LS/ 1763 , gold frame with pierced scrolling foliate decoration and engine turned reverse around central plaque engraved with the sitter's name, later brooch clasp attachment. Oval, 42mm ( 1 5/8in) high
