X 29 1/2" w., label of New Britain Museum of American Art verso, frame bears a Newcomb-Macklin Co. paper label. (American 1874-1965; born in Terryville, CT; married Elisha Cooper in 1901; moved to New Britain in 1910; spent summers painting at her studio in Lyme; studied at: National Academy of Design, NYC, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Pratt Institute, and Art Students League of NYC with Henry B. Snell, Guy Wiggins, Dwight Tryon, Charles Woodbury, and Robert Brackman; was a member of the National Arts Club of NYC, National Association of Women Artists, American Federation of Artists, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, Lyme Art Association, Palm Beach League of Artists, and The Studio Guild; she is listed in the "Annual Artist" and "Who was Who in American Art") [Property of New Britain Museum of American Art].
