MARIAN KRATOCHWIL (Polish, 1906-1997) 'The Philosophising Frog', London 1982, oils on canvas laid on board, 14" x 18" Frog contemplating a landscape symbolising the futility of our trying to understand the universe and creation. A larger composition on the same subject was painted throughout the 1980s and is now in the collection of the Ayuntamiento de Granada.
