Cat. NHSM II, p. 756. Pieter le Comte (1802-1849) was an officer in the Dutch Navy with a great interest in the history of shipping. The fine lithographic plates (printed by Desguerrois en Co., Amsterdam) depict a large variety of shiptypes (in a variety of manoeuvres) such as "Bok", "Brik", "Buis", "Friese Praam", "Gaffelschip", "Peniche", "Stoomboot", "Vissers Pink" & "Vlaamse Pleit".
