Description

Mark Rode (b.1965) DAVID, 2004 bronze (no. 2 from an edition of 7) 84 cm., 33 in. high Australian born Mark Rode studied at the Queensland College of Art, before moving to the UK and later Ireland. He is now based outside Swinford, Co. Mayo, where he works in a foundry run by Camille Souter's son, Tim Morris. He has exhibited widely, showing work with the Solomon Gallery, Jorgensen Fine Art, Castle Upton Gallery in Co. Antrim, Kenny's in Galway, and the Eakin Gallery in Belfast. He has also exhibited at the annual RHA exhibitions and the Boyle Arts Festival. Public commissions include the Kerry GAA Football Sculpture in Tralee, the Jim McPadden Memorial in Leitrim and the Brother Walfrid Memorial in Ballymote, Sligo.
