Description

MASOOD, A[LI] WARREN. Group of four sketchbooks containing approximately 400 crayon and graphite "Sketches from Life," (as titled in each volume), dated January, 1939 through July, 1940. Small 8vo, uniform "Scribble-in" books, some light wear to the covers, internally fine. Vp, 1939-40

Ali Warren Masood (1907-1995), sculptor and artist, studied at the Art Student's League and Temple University. He exhibited at various shows through the 1940s and 1950s, and is best known for his sculpted bust portraits. During WWII, he worked as an official artist for the Armed Services.
