Item Overview

Description

Ink and color on paper. Japan, 1st half 19th centuryKeibun gives us the impression to almost stand in the water as it is wildly streaming down. The rough landscape with steep rocks is overgrown with pines and a small budding prune. A crane (Tanchotsuru) is approaching from above to meet another one and the third is seen hidden in the tree. And the red sun is shining behind the dust. Signed to the lower right KEIBUN 景文, and red seal KEIBUN no in 景文之印 (seal of). Brocade mounting bearing continuing symbols for "luck" and "longevity" (referring to the crane/pine motifs). Wooden rollers, good condition, with old (slightly dam) case.PAINTING 115 x 40,2 CM, Scroll 181 x 53,6 CMFrom a German private collection*regarding the artist see no. 151
