Gallace studied at The Hartford Art School, University of Hartford in 1981 and received her masters from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, in 1983. She has exhibited widely across America as well as at Maureen Paley in London and the Kerlin Gallery in Dublin. Gallace's paintings tend towards minimalism, with her subjects pared down to a series of simple brushstrokes. These paintings, like Lisa 17, are infused with an elusive, solitary quality and convey a seductive calmness.
