Notes

The present work repeats exactly a composition by Jan van Huysum, which was sold at Sotheby's New York, 17 January 1992, lot 96 to French & Co. It was probably executed in London in 1827 when the artist visited the city; van Huysum's original was at that time recorded in the collection of Henry Hope of Cavendish Square.
