Condition Report

Original canvas. There is a layer of surface dirt and some discolouration of the paint layer. Craquelure is visible in places, most notably in the figures of the sitters and there are some deep cracks in the right hand figure in particular. The canvas is very slightly buckling along the lower edge. Examination under UV light shows scattered areas of retouching mostly confined to the two sitters. Held in an ornate frame with swept corners. Unexamined out of frame.
