Milton H. Lowell (1848-1927) Oil on Canvas "Cottage by the River" Landscape. In Period Ornate Gilt Wood Frame. Some tears to canvas, see photos. Measures 25"x48"x2 1/2". Milton H. Lowell was a painter of pastoral New England landscapes and Adirondack Mountain scenes, painting in the same areas as 19th century artists Samuel Coleman, William Hart and George Smillie. While he studied in Boston with Yardley, he was largely self-taught. Lowell also painted works for art calendars. His son, Orson, would be a well-known painter and illustrator for magazines, books and calendars. NO IN HOUSE SHIPPING.
