Nathaniel Currier, publisher (American, 1813-1888)

Arguing the Point. Louis Maurer, lithographer (German/American, 1832-1932), After Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (Anglo/American, 1819-1905), 1855 (Conningham, 265). Identified in inscriptions in the matrix. Lithograph with hand-coloring heightened with gum arabic on paper, sheet size 18 x 24 in., in a later molded wood frame, the backboard retains an old Kennedy & Co., New York, paper label. Condition: Margins trimmed into image, foxing, toning, staining, prevalent to the reverse.
