Nesbitt (Frances E., 1864-1934). Souk El Attarin, Tunis, watercolour, heightened with bodycolour, signed lower right, 34.5 x 51 cm (13.5 x 20 ins), framed and glazed Frances E. Nesbitt (1864-1924) produced watercolour landscapes and town scenes, including views on the continent and elsewhere, and exhibited seventeen works at the S.S. She wrote and illustrated a book on Algeria and Tunis, published in the Black's Colour Guides series in 1906. The present work is the original watercolour for the illustration reproduced opposite page 148 of this work. (1)
