Niccolò di Forzore Spinelli, called Niccolò Fiorentino (1430-1514)
Nonnina Strozzi,
rectangular bronze medal, 81mm. x 51.4mm., a later cast from the portrait medal, brown patina, pierced at top, trace of number in ink on the reverse

Obverse: bust in profile to the right, hair held by a small bonnet fastened with a ribbon under the chin, wearing a square-cut bodice, a short pearl necklace, and a cameo of a laureate head right, on a chain, no legend

Reverse: blank

Niccolò Fiorentino made medals of both Bernardo del Barbigia (1453-1505) and his wife Nonina Strozzi with the figure of Hope on the reverse, to commemorate their marriage in 1489.
