Anne of Denmark (1574-1619), facing left in lace-bordered white dress adorned with gold set pearls and three jewelled turquoise ribbon rosettes, red ribbon behind the lace border, high standing lace collar, thin black ribbon about her neck, pearl necklace and drop pearl earring, her upswept fair hair adorned with quatre-foil shaped jewel with drop pearl, gold set pearls and turquoise ribbon; folded red curtain background with gold border on vellum laid down on card oval, 1 7/16 in. (36 mm.) high, silver-gilt mount within gold frame with green, white and pink enamelled raised foliate border PROVENANCE The late Mrs Emma Joseph; Sotheby's, London, 11 March 1948, lot 113 (œ240 to H.
