THE MUMBLING MUSE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

UNLESS amended by any posted notice during the sale or on the auctioneer's website at www.themumblingmuse.com, the following are the complete terms & condition of sale upon which property is being offered. The property is offered by THE MUMBLING MUSE (THE MUSE), as agent for the consignor, unless the catalog indicates otherwise. All parties bidding at the sale, regardless of method (in-person, absentee, telephone or internet) shall be held to have informed themselves as to the terms and conditions of sale.

THE SALE will be conducted in CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD).

10% BUYERS PREMIUM IN EFFECT, for all payment and bidding methods (live, absentee, phone or internet).
:: GENERAL INFORMATION & REGISTRATION
This is a Public Estate Auction presented by THE MUMBLING MUSE (THE MUSE) with 'LIVE' internet bidding services provided by invaluable.com. Registration prior to bidding is required either with the auctioneer directly (internet, fax, email) or via one of the Invaluable partners. Telephone and absentee bids are accepted and welcome. A credit card may be required as part of the registration process.
:: TITLE & LIMITED WARRANTY
THE CONSIGNOR WARRANTS GOOD TITLE TO THE PURCHASER. All lots to be sold 'AS IS'. THE MUSE has made a reasonable attempt to ensure accuracy with regards to statements regarding the description, age and condition of each item. However, all such information should be considered a statement of opinion, and in no way a representation of fact. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is perfect in condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Potential bidders are encouraged to contact THE MUSE with any questions or concerns along with requests for additional images and/or a detailed condition report PRIOR to placing a bid.
:: CONDUCT OF SALE
THE MUSE and/or AUCTIONEER reserve the right to edit and or withdraw any lot at any time before or during the sale. Certain lots may be subject to a RESERVE bid, which will be executed by the AUCTIONEER on the CONSIGNORS behalf. ALL absentee, telephone and internet bids to be executed at the AUCTIONEERS discretion. The AUCTIONEER will be solely responsible for determining all disputes and may, at his discretion re-open the bidding on a particular lot.
:: INVOICES & PAYMENT
ALL BUYERS WILL BE INVOICED IN CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD)
-- IN PERSON AT THE SALE - Accepted payment methods include: Cash, Cheque, Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) please note: we do not accept interac payments - however there are ATM machines located at the hotel.
-- ABSENTEE, TELEPHONE, INTERNET BIDDERS - Within 72 hours following the sale you will receive an invoice including the packing, insurance & shipping costs for your purchases to the address you provided upon registration - unless you have made prior alternate shipping arrangements. Thank you in advance for your patience. If your item is being referred to an independent shipper, we will require payment in full, prior to releasing the item(s). If you would like to make arrangements to pick-up your item, or make alternate arrangements please contact THE MUSE.

THE MUSE accepts PayPal*, e-transfers, The following credit cards: VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover (via SQUARE). Personal Check and Traditional Wire Transfers (Major Banks). The MUMBLING MUSE reserves the right to hold merchandise until payment clears our accounts. (PayPal payments are limited to $2500.00 CAD)
:: SALES TAXES
Items shipped within the province of British Columbia are subject to 7% PST and 5% GST. Items shipped to other Canadian Provinces are subject to the applicable GST/HST. USA & International destinations are exempt from Sales Tax however please note that import duties and/or taxes may apply.
:: NEW! LOCAL DELIVERY SERVICE
If you live in Vancouver and/or the Lower Mainland we are now offering a flat-rate (front door) delivery service for $25.00 per order. (complicated access and/or large items furniture extra) Our driver will also be able to take MOBILE PAYMENTS, at the time of delivery. Pick-up in Horseshoe-Bay also available.
:: SHIPPING & INSURANCE
THE MUSE maintains a highly specialized and uniquely tailored cargo insurance policy and has years of extensive experience shipping antiques, collectibles and fine art worldwide. THE MUSE provides these in-house services as a convenience to our bidders. Specialized outbound shipping insurance at full value (hammer price + premium) is provided with all purchases. All outbound shipments will be sent via full tracking services provided by CANADA POST (most economical)
Items of significant value (Over $10,000.00 CAD) and/or items requiring specialty custom crating, oversized, extremely fragile etc. may be referred to an independent shipper at our discretion. Please contact the auctioneer for more information.
[ HOW IN-HOUSE PACKING AND SHIPPING COSTS ARE CALCULATED - THE MUSE charges a small handling fee to help offset the cost of labour, insurance and packaging materials (2% of hammer price - to a maximum fee of $50.00 PER ORDER) in addition to the 'actual' cost (our cost) of the shipping label. Any difference will be promptly refunded. THE MUSE is happy to provide a shipping quote for any item/lot by request. :: USA & INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
Please note: USA & International bidders are responsible for any applicable import duties and/or taxes. We do not falsify customs documents with regards to description or value under any circumstances, so please do not ask!
PLEASE NOTE: Shipping from CANADA to international destinations, especially for large and/or heavy items can be costly.

:: SPECIAL EXPORT RESTRICTIONS
Some items in our auctions may be restricted for export outside of Canada and/or require special permits in order to leave the country, either due to their value and cultural significance, or because they contain parts from species protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) ie: tortoiseshell or ivory. THE MUMBLING MUSE can provide assistance in acquiring the necessary permits; however please be prepared to face additional costs and delays and there are no assurances that any permit will be granted for export. Please bid accordingly.
Payment
THE MUSE accepts: PayPal, Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Wire Transfers, Interac e-transfers and cheques. Please note: THE MUSE reserves the right to hold merchandise until payment clears our accounts.
Shipping
Economical In-house packing and shipping services provided. Buyer is responsible for all shipping expenses, including any import duties and/or taxes (international shipments). All shipments are sent fully insured, with tracking. Please note: Outbound shipping to certain International destinations can be costly. Shipping quotes are provided happily upon request, please contact the auctioneer for more information.
