Oil on canvas over wood. Austrian infantry in battle with enemy cavalry. In the centre the dramatic fight for a field standard in front of thick powder smoke. In a partially gilt, moulded frame. Board dimensions 42 x 34 cm. Framed dimensions 37 x 30 cm.
Schuster studied at the Dresden Academy and continued his instruction principally in Paris. Mainly he dedicated himself to battle scenes.
