Oil on Panel of Indians by Rudolph Tschudi, signed in lower right R.Tschudi. Portrays three dismounted Apache scouts in mountainous landscape. In a modern frame; 12" x 10" (w/o frame), 18" x 16" (w/frame).

Rudolf Tschudi (1855-1923), born and trained in Switzerland, came to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1874, where he soon won first prize at the Ohio Mechanic's Institute. He later befriended Frank Duveneck and was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. He is most often known for his still lifes, portraits, and landscapes, as well as his depictions of American Indians.
