Description

Oil Painting: James Lynwood Palmer (1868-1941) Horse in a Sunlit Landscape Signed and dated "1924", oil on canvas, 36cm by 46cm Born in Market Rasen, the third son of a parson who became Canon of Rochester Cathedral, educated at King's College, London. At 17 ran away to Canada and spent 11 years on ranches in Canada. In 1899 he returned to England where he found patrons including Lady Warwick, the Duke of Portland, Edward VII for whom he painted "Minoru" and George V for whom he painted "Scuttle".
