This work is number 4 from the sold-out edition of 5 + 2 AP.

His passion for Minimalism led Kolehmainen to explore the subject of grids through the medium of photography. The resulting large-format works are meticulous and isolate the grid-like facades from their particular context. While Kolehmainen works mainly with architecture, he is not concerned with the function and scale of the actual buildings. He is also not interested in creating narratives. The transformation of three-dimensional forms into two-dimensional surfaces is what excites him.

Kolehmainen received his MA in Photography from the University of Art and Design Helsinki. His works have been shown widely in the US and Europe, including the Helsinki School travelling exhibitions, and are held in numerous private, corporate and institutional collections, including Deutsche Bank, Germany and Great Britain; DZ Bank, Germany; and The Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki. He lives and works in Berlin.
