Olga Wisinger-Florian was originally trained as a concert pianist. However, due to a hand suffering she had to end her career and devoted herself to painting ever since. Like her teacher Emil Jakob Schindler Olga Wisinger is also considered a significant representative of the Austrian Impressionism and Luminism.

Condition:
The canvas is laid down on cardboard. Occasional some overpainting and retouching in the representation visible under UV, otherwise overall in good condition. The image dimensions are 32 x 38.5 cm, the framed dimensions 32 x 38.5 cm.

Olga Wisinger-Florian (1844-1926)
Olga Wisinger-Florian initially took private lessons with Melchior Fritsch and August Schaeffer before she became a student of Emil Jakob Schindler in 1880. Since 1877 she has regularly participated in exhibitions of the Paris Salons as well as the Viennese Artist Association. Since 1881 she also exhibited at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, followed by exhibitions with the Vienna Secession and participations in the world exhibitions in Paris and Chicago. In addition, it is committed to the women's movement, among others being the co-founder of the Vienna Association ‘Eight Women’. Olga Wisinger-Florian is one of the most successful artists and representative of the Austrian Impressionism and Luminism.
