ORSAY Alfred Guillaume Gabriel de (4. 2. 1801 Paris - 4. 9. 1852 Paris) Gallantry scene Oil on canvas, 73 x 59 cm, framed, glazed, undated [1830s], signed lower right, with an expertise on the painting technique. French painter and sculptor, portraitist and director of the Academy under Louise Bonaparte. He was a much-sought-after portrait painter, he portrayed e.g. Wellington and Byron. See TB 26/57, B 8/37.
